4. Do all Armourers have the same sort of weapons and make their own blanks?

A. Some Armourers only have a few weapons and can only be of limited service to major productions so you should ask the Armourer what weapons do they really have in stock.

Some Armourers do not manufacture their own blank cartridges and only use store bought blanks. This makes it impossible for them to make a blank cartridge to suit the action that you may require or to make a weapon fire in a particular manner to suit the safety parameters of your film set.

A professional Armourer will have all of the classic weapons in his own armoury and more than 20 of each of the standard wartime weapons. If they do not have this many in their own armoury, how would they provide a professional service on a film that requires, say, 15 American soldiers in Vietnam circa 1968 in a dream sequence or a 12 member swat team involved in a shootout with 8 to 10 well armed drug lords or even have spare weapons standing by on set just in case of a weapon being damaged by accident during filming?.....

It would always be advisable to ask about these scenarios prior to the employment of an Armourer for your Film Project
